Add to myYahoo!Unlike an adult, a baby does not need 8 glasses of drinking water a day. A baby who is less than 6 months old does not need any water at all. Feeding from the mother’s milk provides liquids into the baby’s body system so water is unnecessary until the 6 month period is over. While [...]

When Miami Marlins owners Jeffrey Loria wanted Ozzie Guillen to be the next manager of the Marlins, he didn't waste any time filling the vacancy. Loria quickly reached out to the White Sox, offering two prospects in return. He lured Guillen to Miami without having to conduct another interview.
After Guillen and most of his staff were fired on Tuesday, the Marlins front office has decided to take a new approach. They clearly aren't going to be complacent and stop their search after choosing a favorite candidate. They have already interviewed several candidates, but according to reporter Ken Rosenthal, they will not name their new manager until after the World Series.
- Former catcher Mike Redmond currently appears to be the favorite. Despite what many called "a really good interview" in New York, Redmond is not a lock for the job. Shortly after interviewing Redmond, Miami contacted Cincinnati pitching coach Bryan Price, who has previously interviewed with the Marlins to fill pitching coach and managerial vacancies.
- Mike Lowell put in a good word for Redmond, saying, "Mike Redmond is a man who maximized his talents as a player, communicated well and was a leader. I believe he is the man to lead the Marlins back to playing at a championship level. I'm Mike Lowell and I approved this message."
- Ken Rosenthal also reported on Friday that Larry Bowa interviewed for the job. It appears that Miami would be happy with a first time manager and isn't necessarily looking for someone with experience.
- Ryne Sandberg is believed to be on Miami's short list of possibilities, however it may be difficult to lure him away from the Philadelphia Phillies. After managing the team's Triple-A affiliate, Sandberg was recently promoted to third base coach for the big league club and is viewed as a favorite to replace Charlie Manuel when he retires.
- Miami also lost minor league catching coordinator Tim Cossins, who was hired by the Cubs to be their minor league field coordinator. Cossins was a favorite among Marlins catchers, including John Buck and John Baker. "He's a good coach," said Buck, "I'm a big fan of his. I think he's made me better and when he was here we did well. Some coaches have that knack of having people be receptive to the way they are. He's pretty good."
- Mark Buehrle won his fourth career Fielding Bible Award, which is given to the player that best fields his position between both leagues. "Mark Buehrle was the best fielding pitcher when he was with the White Sox in the American League for the last three years," said owner of Baseball Info Solutions John Dewan, who devised the runs saved metric. "He was the best fielding pitcher this year when he played for the Marlins in the National League."
- Brad Ausmus, who is currently a special assistant in the Padres organization, isn't interested in taking or interviewing for the job. Miami asked San Diego for permission to speak with the former player, however Ausmus immediately declined the offer.
- Amy Nelson of SB Nation noticed a man wearing a Marlins jacket at AT&T Park in San Francisco during the first two World Series games. Find out what the long time Marlins fan thought of the Marlins' decision to fire Guillen and more here.
- Guillen did not speak much after being dismissed, but what he did say he posted on Twitter. In a series of five tweets, he thanked his family, friends, and fans, saying that he is leaving with "his head real high."
Around The League
- Rick Hahn, the White Sox's long-time assistant general manager, was recently named the club's senior vice president/general manager.
- Carl Crawford, who recently underwent Tommy John surgery, spoke during a press conference on Friday, saying that he is excited to be a Dodger after a tough year in Boston. "It's no secret; it was a tough year in Boston," he said. "It's one of those things that I wouldn't want any player to go through, so for me to get out of that situation definitely was a relief so I wouldn't have to go through the stress and stuff every day that it was putting us through."
- Former Tigers pitcher Leslie Mueller, best known for taking the mound for more than 19 innings in a game, died at the age of 93.
At Fish Stripes
- Miami fired manager Ozzie Guillen on Tuesday afternoon. Check out the Fish Stripes reaction and more here.
- Josh Johnson had a decent year, despite a rough start on opening day. How would you describe his 2012 season?
- Recently acquired Marlins prospect Yordy Cabrera was a second round pick. Here's why.
- After firing Guillen, Larry Beinfest said that the team needed to get back to the "Marlins Way". What exactly is the Marlin Way?
- Miami's bullpen, with the exception of Heath Bell, was efficient in 2012. How will it perform without Bell?

Add to myYahoo!World Series game 2. I watched intensely glued to my TV set. Not like game 1, I was hoping for a closer score. I got that, but not in favor of Detroit.
Through 6 innings of play it was 0-0. Then a run in the 7th, followed by another in the eighth put it away for the Giants (2-0). Congratulations.
If there was one weakness I'd say it was in the Tiger bull pen. Although I must say that Doug Fister had a remarkable recovery that allowed him to stay in the game after getting hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Blanco. But where's the relief? Drew Smyly had control problems early on and Valverde, Tiger closer, is having some problems of his own. And on and on the story goes. And in game 3 the Tigers will have to face Vogelsong whose been red hot in post season play. And we all know what he did to the St. Louis Cardinals.
But losing by two runs isn't all that bad, if only they got some significant hits where it counted the most.
If there is any such thing as luck the Giants have it. They can do nothing wrong. And the ball had eyes. It went every where the Giants wanted it to go. Do you agree?

Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times is reporting that a "plethora" of Kansas City Royals scouts were on hand to watch James Paxton in the Arizona Fall League pitch on Friday. With the Royals in need of pitching depth this is no real surprise. Here is a bit of information on James that I was able to quickly put together before game 3 of the World Series starts.
James is left-handed and is going to turn 24 on November 6th. He is fairly big boy at 6'4" and 220 lbs. He was drafted in the 4th round of the 2010 draft. Here are his minor league stats so far.
Before the 2012 season, Baseball America ranked him the 52nd top prospect in baseball.
Here are a couple of in depth scouting reports on Mr. Paxton

Chris Creamer of SportsLogos News with yet another Astros reveal:
For the third time in the last two days (and the fourth time this month) the Houston Astros have had their new logo leaked online and this time it’s the big guy – the new Astros primary logo, as well as a new wordmark logo – both of these graphics are ones we had yet to see before.
Two things. First, props to the guy that designed our new logo, because it looks very similar to the Astros new logo.
Second, you have to wonder what's really going on here. In the IT world when troubleshooting something you start be trying to determine the source of the problem. If just one computer has a problem you focus on that computer. If multiple computers are having the same problem you look at what all those computers have in common. In regards to the Astros redesign leaks you have to look at the organization. The retailers have their share of the blame for letting the logo get out, but you have to wonder if the Astros aren't stressing enough dates in which this stuff can go live.
In regards to the Astros side of the blame, there's two possibilities here. The Astros wanted this to happen to get some more publicity. This is nothing new for the Astros who have done things like this constantly through the almost entire full year Jim Crane has been owner.
The other possibility is that with new staff in place they're making mistakes like a new staff would. As state above, maybe they aren't stressing enough to people dates and not putting big enough "do not open until November 2" signs on boxes.
I guess there are possibilities, maybe multiple retailers are just that inept or maybe the internet has just become so good at revealing this kind of stuff. In a different time this stuff may have been done before and never been noticed because we're not as connected then as we are now. Whatever it is, it's giving us something interesting to talk about while we wait for free agency to begin.
