A.J. Burnett lost his composure and failed to finish the second inning, when the Minnesota Twins scored five times on their way to a 9-4 victory over the New York Yankees on Saturday. Q: How many Rockies does it take to beat the
Dodgers A: 22.

DENVER, CO - AUGUST 20: A fan holds up a sign for Todd Helton #17 of the Colorado Rockies during the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Coors Field on August 20, 2011 in Denver, Colorado. (Photo by Garrett W. Ellwood/Getty Images)

The Full Roster. Kevin Millwood, Jhoulys Chacin and Edgmer Escalona. Those were the three Rockies on the 25 man roster not to see any action in the 13 inning battle.

The At Bat. Helton vs. Guerra. Down 6-4 and after falling behind 1-2 and three point five gazillion pitches later, Todd Helton came through in the bottom of the twelfth with the hit that saved the game. Somebody was just mentioning the other day that Helton's doubles weren't memorable. Let double #553 be forever seared into your collective memories, Rockies fans, as one worth bringing up.

The Redemption. Helton's double would have tied the game, and the subsequent Eliezer groundout to score Troy Tulowitzki would have won it had Dexter Fowler not made a poor decision to dive for a catch on a Trent Oeltjen drive in the first half of the inning. Already down 5-4, Oeltjen's inside the park HR gave the Dodgers that 6-4 lead. So, in the 13th inning, after a Mark Ellis double, Fowler came up with a chance to make amends.

Amends were made. The Rockies won 7-6. The best game of the season? Perhaps? Was anybody able to see it? Only a few hearty souls.

Atlanta Win Over Arizona

Uggla Smash!

Atlanta gave Wade Miley a rude welcome to the major leagues and beat Arizona 8-1 Saturday night.

The Diamondbacks got the scoring going in the first inning against Brandon Beachy. Justin Upton singled with one out for Miguel Montero, who doubled to right field field. Montero's double scored Upton and gave Arizona an early 1-0 lead.

The Braves increased their lead in the bottom of the second inning. Jose Constanza singled and advanced to second for Brandon Beachy. Beachy singled to left, scoring Constanza to make it a 3-1 lead.

In the fifth inning, Atlanta added yet again to its lead. A Michael Bourn single and a walk to Martin Prado put runners on first and second for Chipper Jones, who singled into right field to score Bourn and up the Braves lead to 4-1. Freddie Freeman gave Atlanta another run with a sacrifice fly to open it up to a 5-1 game.

Miley failed to record an out in the fifth inning, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, and 5 K.

Michael Bourn made the defensive play of the game in top of the sixth inning with a leaping grab into the wall in center with two outs.

Atlanta kept the scoring going in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Bourn singled to center with two outs. Martin Prado doubled to left field to score Bourn and make it a 6-1 lead.

Beachy threw six strong innings,  giving up only four hits and the one run while walking one and striking out seven.

Brandon Inge homered in his return to the Tigers lineup and Detroit went on to rout the Cleveland Indians 10-1 on Saturday night.
