Peeta celebrated today's DVD release of The Hunger Games by hitting his first home run since May 17.

Drew Pomeranz has developed a relatively standard performance baseline of late, as the Rockies can reasonably certain that the left-hander will be somewhat wildly effective for four innings these days. Pomeranz left after four innings for the fourth consecutive start, done in once again by inefficiency with his pitches.

Pomeranz walked four, including Giancarlo Stanton intentionally in the first inning, but the Marlins managed just three hits in Pomeranz' four frames. A Josh Rutledge error to lead off the game, the Marlins took a 1-0 lead. A John Buck home run in the fourth gave Miami a 2-0 lead, but on a day in which the Rockies lost three position players to injury, the Rockies got to Josh Johnson for three in the bottom half.

Michael Cuddyer went back on the disabled list with a strained oblique before the game, with Andrew Brown replacing the former Twin on the roster. Eric Young Jr. left after striking out in the first inning with a strained ribcage, and Josh Rutledge re-aggravated his quad injury.

Before Rutledge departed, he singled to lead off the fourth. Dexter Fowler, who reached base in all four plate appearances, then cut the deficit in half with an RBI double. Two outs later, Jordan Pacheco snapped a 279 at-bat homerless streak with a big two-run homer.

Piggybacker Adam Ottavino then completely shut down the Marlins for three innings, allowing just one single and an intentional walk of Stanton. The Bonds treatment was effective, as Giancarlo was kept in the ball park for the first time in his seven career games at Coors Field. He grounded out to second base and struck out in the only two at-bats in which he was pitched to.

Matt Belisle worked an easy 9 pitch, 1-2-3 8th inning and Rafael Betancourt worked around two singles in the ninth for the save. Charlie Blackmon went 0-for-4 in his first MLB start since July 7, 2011. With the win, the Rockies split the series and depart on a seven game road trip to Citi Field and Wrigley Field after a 5-2 homestand.

Colorado has now lost just one of their last four series.
