Royals Blasted, Bitten, And Beaten By Blue Jays

Banny was bombed, while the bats were blown away. But hey, they didn't get no-hit!

Many people seem to be all over Brayan Pena tonight, which is understandable. That being said, we're at game thirteen on the 2010 season, and prior to tonight he'd played a total of three innings. Just part of the little things Jason Kendall does for a ballclub that don't show up in the boxscore.

MLB Cracks The Whip and Commands Tampa Bay Rays
Manager Joe Maddon To Loose The Hoodie

First the crack down on crewing tobacco and now fashion icon Joe Maddon told not to wear the hoodie (a little too “gangsta”, who knows). With such important issues to address it’s no wonder that a comprehensive drug testing program is still not in place … hey, you got to prioritize. Thank God MLB got [...]

Mets 6 Cubs 1 April 19, 2010

It wasn’t lost on us that the Mets won tonight, but it was all about Ike Davis tonight. He made his major league debut tonight and didn’t disappoint. The crowd gave him a huge ovation for his first at-bat and he singled over second base. He finished the night 2 for 4 with an RBI. ... Continue ReadingRelated posts:

Cardinals win, Diamondbacks skid at 5 (AP)

The St. Louis Cardinals won their fifth opener in five series this season, and the Arizona Diamondbacks blew yet another lead. Matt Holliday went 3 for 5 with his fourth home run of the season, Brad Penny had his third strong outing and the Cardinals opened a six-game road trip by handing the Diamondbacks their [...]

Pineiro, Rodney help Angels blank Tigers (AP)

Joel Pineiro worked in and out of trouble most of the time, managing to hold one of baseball’s most intimidating lineups scoreless until Fernando Rodney put the finishing touches on the Angels’ first shutout of the season. Pineiro pitched into the eighth inning and Rodney pitched a perfect ninth against the team he did such [...]

Rockies 2, Nationals 5: Craig Stammen befuddles
Rockies; Aaron Cook doesn't have it

The original caption for this said the fan was looking for his seat. I say just pick one.

The original caption for this said the fan was looking for his seat. I say just pick one.

Craig Stammen dominated. Craig Stammen dominated the Rockies to the tune of two runs on five hits over eight innings. He also struck out five Rockies. Todd Helton and Troy Tulowitzki each had two hits tonight, and Clint Barmes had an RBI double.

Aaron Cook didn't have it tonight. When Willie Harris blasts a three-run homer off of you, things certainly aren't going well. Cookie had trouble finding the strike zone and wound up with four walks tonight. The bullpen shutout the Nationals for the final five innings of the game. Manny Corpas looked good in two innings of work. Randy Flores didn't do anything to make our hearts prepare for the worst, and Matt Daley kept the Nats in line. Joe Beimel allowed the only hit by the bullpen when he pitched in the eighth inning. Happy birthday, Joe!
