Both Mike Minor and Tim Lincecum had hitters swinging and missing, but one Chipper Jones swing didn't miss.
Chipper's 447th career home run was all the support Minor needed in a 1-0 Braves victory over the Giants.
Minor labored early in the game, throwing 48 pitches between the first two innings, but soon settled down. He faced the minimum over the next four innings and struck out nine in the game. He allowed four hits and only walked one (it was intentional) in six innings.
Meanwhile, Lincecum was just as impressive, executing damage control when necessary. He didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning when Michael Bourn singled and advanced to third on Brian McCann's double, but he easily handled Dan Uggla and Freddie Freeman to squash the threat.
The biggest blow against Lincecum, however, was Chipper's blast leading off the fifth. Chipper had been homerless against Lincecum entering the game. Lincecum finished the game with seven strikeouts in seven innings.
The three-headed monster "O'Ventbrel" finished the Giants off; Craig Kimbrel struck out two in the ninth for his 37th save.

Add to myYahoo!Per a Bill Plunkett tweet. Maybe we'll get lucky and see whether (a) he gets any playing time, and (b) what Scioscia meant by comparing Conger to Mike Trout behind the dish.

Add to myYahoo!McKeon will be back in San Diego for the first time since he managed the Marlins in 2005. He has fond memories of San Diego, a place where he spent 11 years as either a general manager or manager.
"All of my friends out there are saying, 'Let's have lunch,'" McKeon said.
McKeon is also well respected in Cincinnati, but says San Diego has more history with him.
"San Diego was better," McKeon said. "I have more contacts in San Diego. I was there longer, 11 years. A lot of those guys stay in touch with me. I have some loyal friends there."
It was in San Diego where McKeon earned the nickname, "Trader Jack."
