Add to myYahoo!Keenan Cahill is on everybody's lips these days. The You Tube phenomenon has sung or lipsynced everything from Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" to 50 Cent's "Down on Me." Cahill operates by the name of BeenerKeeKee19952 when he posts videos on You Tube and his channel has over 205 million views and nearly 340,000 subscribers.
Now the 15-year old from Chicago is teaming up with San Francisco Giants outfielder Cody Ross on a new secret video project. He flew down to Arizona earlier today to start filming. (He will also be doing a live dinner show and meet & greet at American Junkie in Scottsdale Saturday night.)
What we do know is that the Giants are teaming up with Keenan by hosting a social media fundraiser at AT&T Park on Wednesday, May 25 when the Florida Marlins come to town. Fans who participate will receive a "Ross is Boss" jersey and a ticket to the game. Plus, the Giants will premier the new, highly-anticipated full video production of Cahill with Ross. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to charity.
Exactly what the video is about or who's in it (besides Ross, presumably) is still unknown. But you can bet somebody will be "lip syncing the $#*! out of that song."
Cahill suffers from Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome, also known as MPS-VI. The inherited disease (which has no cure) is incredibly rare and only 1,100 people in the world are affected by it. And I gotta give it to him. The kid has made the most out of his situation.
Teaming up with the World Champion Giants will surely make Cahill even more popular --- and just maybe Ross, too.

Add to myYahoo!San Francisco Giants left-hander Madison Bumgarner has re-upped his contract for 2011, according to John Shea (SF Chronicle).
Bumgarner was 7-6 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.306 WHIP in 18 starts with the G-men last year. He was even more outstanding in the postseason, where he went 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA and 1.113 WHIP in starts against the Braves, Phillies and Rangers.
The 21-year old North Carolina native lost his bid to become the team's No. 5 starter out of spring training last year to Todd Wellemeyer, only to win it back (and keep it) after he was recalled from Triple-A Fresno on June 26.
In 2007, Bumgarner was ranked by Baseball America as the country's 14th-best prospect going into the draft. The Giants took him in the first round (tenth overall).

Add to myYahoo!San Francisco Giants starter Matt Cain pitched a simulated game yesterday, throwing 47 pitches. Today, his arm felt good enough to declare him ready to make another start.
On Feb. 27, less than a week after the St. Louis Cardinals found out they would be without ace Adam Wainwright (Tommy John surgery), Cain felt pain in his throwing elbow and was abruptly taken off the team's pitching schedule.
Cain, who has averaged 210 innings pitched per season from 2006-2010 and has never missed time due to injury, was given an MRI and, fortunately, there was no structural damage found.
The right-handed workhorse was ordered to not pick up a baseball for five days. Eventually, he began resuming some light throwing drills and flat-ground pitching. He threw a 10-minute bullpen session on Mar. 7. That led to the 3-inning simulated game, where he pitched to three batters at a time, sitting between each "inning."
After waking up today with no pain or inflammation, Cain was given the green light to face the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday at Scottsdale Stadium.

Add to myYahoo!Twins first baseman Justin Morneau took his next step toward being ready for opening day.
