Inside the Rockies reports Rex Brothers, Nolan
Arenado and Ben Paulsen have signed with Colorado

Steve Foster has the scoop that the Rockies have come to terms with three more of their top five picks, Rex Brothers, Nolan Arenado and Ben Paulsen, all selected in the top 100 overall of the 2009 draft, leaving #11 overall selection Tyler Matzek as the Rockies lone major holdout.

Brothers, a left handed pitcher and junior out of Lipscomb College, was selected 34th overall in the first supplemental round of the draft. He should enter the system as the Rockies second best LHP prospect to last year's first round selection, Christian Friedrich.

Arenado, the 59th overall selection in the second round of the draft, is a third baseman from El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California. He may wind up being the most raw talent signed by the Rockies this year, and will take some time to refine his talent. Still, the ceiling for him as an offensive oriented corner with power to all fields is pretty high.

Paulsen was the Rockies third round choice out of Clemson and presents an interesting contrast to Arenado. His polished bat should move quickly through the system. As a first baseman, there's some question if he will have enough power to be an asset at the position at the major league level, but the hitting skill for a high average, doubles hitter should be there.
