Add to myYahoo! The Tigers were 1-6 this season before today’s win at against the Twins at the Metrodome but at least for a day, it was like we were back in 2006 with an impressive come from behind win. Down 4-1, Miguel Cabrera drove in his 112th run of the season in the seventh inning to make [...]

A Brewer win in extra innings coupled with an Astros loss meant the Astros fell seven games behind the Wild Card pace with 21 games to go on our schedule. Makes life a little more difficult, but there is a lot to look forward to tonight, besides trying to rebound from a tough loss last night. Most notably is Roy Oswalt making his first start since dominating the Cubs this past week. His numbers are slowly starting to look more Oswalt-like, which is nice to see going into the last stretch of games this season. Jeff Francis has had the home run bug bite him this season too- quite the opposite of last night's starter, Ubaldo Jimenez. Hopefully the bats get going early, and Roy can win number 14.

Add to myYahoo! The Rockies need this one to get within 4.5 games with the Dodgers winning again today (if they can ever get this last out). At this point Los Angeles is looking to be a more serious challenge to overcome than Arizona, and we'll likely need some unexpected luck to turn against tehm in their remaining schedule to complete the job. If San Diego and San Francisco can step up as spoilers with their hated rival, I certainly won't mind.
As for tonight, Jeff Francis has been a steady hand in his last four starts, and since returning from the DL has been the pitcher we were expecting to show up in April. Given the stress he caused Rockies fans early in the season, I think he owes us a few more like his last four between now and the end of the year.
