Luke Hochevar Shuts Down Indians

Photo

Luke Hochevar gives us starts like this from time to time and each time it feels like something new has dawned. Tonight he struck out eight, walked just one, and allowed only three hits against a not great but not terrible Indians team fighting for their lives.

Offensively, just about everyone chipped in, with only Francoeur -- God bless him -- recording more than one hit. Johnny Giavotella homered.

All in all, a nice night of playing spoiler, though very few are still following the Royals at this point.

Tex Feels Better, Hopes To Play Tomorrow

From Rick Carpiniello:

?I feel better. I feel really good about, hopefully playing tomorrow. Feel reallt good about the steps we made today. Tons of treatment today, but I got to work out, got to swing, kind of put myself through a little hit of jogging. It?s still sore, but to the point where I think I should be able to play tomorrow.?

?We took X-rays (Friday) and the biggest thing is the hamstring tendon. You don?t want to mess with that. If that?s not feeling right, too tight, you don?t want to push it. That got a lot better. Hopefully I?ll be good tomorrow.?
That's good, but if there is any questions or doubt about the leg he better not play. No need for him to risk a worse injury.
