Sam Mellinger either gulping down the Royal blue Kool-Aid or engaging in some astute analysis. You be the judge.
Mellinger has gone all-in on his expectations for the Royals. This was from today's Q&A by Twitter, where he was asked, "Do the Royals have enough pitching now to contend for the division or for at least play .500 ball? His answer was "absolutely" and then the above quote. It's hard to imagine that this team's reasonable floor is 81 wins. But Mellinger sees it.
