A Mile High and the Magic Number is 11

It’s hard to stop the Big Blue Wrecking Crew (dare I say that?).  It is absolutely true however, because when we score 5 or more runs we almost always win!  Andre Ethier is off for the birth of hs child.  No problem.  Clayon Kershaw got bombed in Denver last time.  No Problem!  Speaking of Clayton, he pitched extremely well in the Mile-High City.  I guess I was wrong about skipping his spot in the rotation.   6 Innings, 4 Hits, 7 K’s, 2 BB (that’s the key) is very good in Coors.  Clayton is going to end up with more than 170 innings pitched, that’s for sure.  However, I think they will rest him (SKIP A START) if we continue the way we are.

RANTS & RAVES

  • For those of you who doubted what I said about Adrian Beltre wanting to come back to LA, Bill Shaikin of The LA Times quoted Beltre as saying:  “If I’m available, I’d be happy to,” he said. “I don’t know what is going to happen. I’d be more than happy to come back to L.A. It’s not under my control.”  He went on the say that Beltre still has a home in Pasadena.  For a couple of years, I have touted bringing back Adrian.  He’d be very nice at 3B for us.
  • I can really see us going after JJ Hardy for SS and I think we have the players to get him.
  • While I did not express my opinion on Manny, I would offer him 3 years/$90 million at the start of free-agency and he would have to make a quick decision, because everything hinges on him.  I we sign him, then we have other options, if not, then we go another direction.
  • CC Sabbathia scares me.  Overwork and overweight does not equal longivity.  He may be different, but I would pass.
  • I’d like to see James McDoanld and AJ Ellis.
  • Who thinks Chano Ho Park couldn’t be our closer next year?
