The Rays have been nothing short of outstanding this year in their quest to the World Series, and regardless of how their season ends, I think they are a model of how to build a Championship Caliber Team. I keep hearing that we need a power hitter in the lineup and that we HAVE to sign Manny Ramirez. I respectfully disagree. This year’s Dodger team has vastly more experience than the Rays and yet the Rays are acting like they are the experienced team. I purpose that we let our vets, including Lowe, Penny, Saito, Nomar, Kent and Blake walk, and trade Pierre. With that money we can sign Manny, CC and Furcal, but even if we don’t sign Manny because his price is too high, we still have Andruw Jones, and Delwyn Young or another Free Agent (Dunn?). Let’s compare what next-years team would look like verses this years version of the Tampa Bay Rays.Dodgers of next year
