Utley powers Phils to game six

Post Author: first2third.com
The Phillies beat the Yankees 8-6 tonight, ensuring that the World Series will be at least six games.
Chase Utley continued his torrid hitting this World Series, slugging two more home runs. Utley now has five home runs in the series, tying him with only Reggie Jackson for the all-time record. Utley finished the game with three hits and four runs batted in.
A.J Burnett was completely ineffective going on just three days rest. Burnett lasted just two innings, and surrendered six earned runs while walking four batters.
Cliff Lee wasn't his usual dominant self, but held the Yankees at bay while getting plenty of run support. Lee did manage to go deep into the game though, going seven innings while getting touched up for five runs and walking an uncharacteristic three batters.
The Yankees will now turn to Andy Pettitte, who will also be pitching on short rest. The Phillies will counter with Pedro Martinez.
Next Game: Wednesday 11/4First Pitch: 7:57 pm EST
