Weekly Ichthyomancy Update: July 22-27

This week's Ichthyomancy fell a little shy in terms of total points because I canceled Ichthy for one game due to my own silly transgressions regarding Wednesday's afternoon game. Fortunately for us, we still had plenty of chances to get points and even a Double Ichthy Points game to try and rack up points. So who has come out on top this week? And how have the overall standings been affected? Let's find out!

Your top ten has had little movement in terms of order of ranking, but plenty of weekly movement in terms of points. The one big ranking change during the week was that Jigokusabre actually took sole possession of the Ichthy lead from long-time leader SuperRadz, who once had a commanding double-digit lead that was threatening 20 points. That vacation before the All-Star break and Jigo's strong ASB performance has pulled him now up to a tie for first place with SuperRadz. But let's not forget SuperRadz's old challenger to the throne, as Jeremy Hulme keeps trucking along with another solid week following his Weekly Ichthyomancy Championship last week; this week has pulled Jeremy within one point of both leaders!

Another heavy mover is whambam, who has climbed the boards and is threatening 40 points despite constantly putting up negative AAB picks! With dgriot and oladipo_for_mayor's weeks going poorly, whambam is within shouting distance of cracking into the top five, which sounded unheard of just a few weeks ago.

Not a lot of points being slung around this week, in part due to a number losses and in part due to one cancelled game, but what did occur turned out to make some difference at the top. As mentioned before, whambam's run to almost 40 points total was due to a nice six-point week that just barely edged out co-leader Jigokusabre for the Weekly Ichthyomancy Championship.

We should also note the presence of Ncchief31, who made his first few picks of the season this week and got his first points on the Double Ichthy Points game! Welcome to the game Ncchief31, and I hope you stick around and keep playing with the rest of the gang.

Congratulations whambam, you are this week's Weekly Ichthyomancy Champion! I will put in another table tracking Weekly Ichthyomancy championships, if you guys are interested.

Second Half Leaderboard

The order of the second half leaderboard hasn't changed much, but the competition has certainly gotten stiffer. Jigokusabre suffered a two-point loss in Ichthyomancy in the Double Ichthy Points game, and as a result he now only holds a one-point lead over Jeremy Hulme for the second half. Coming up right behind them off of a six-point Championship week is whambam. Lurking are also Andrew Townes, Marlon D, and current co-leader of the season game SuperRadz, who has been on a relative Ichthyomancy slump after just dominating the first half game.

Can SuperRadz come back furiously and put some space between his competitors? Will Jigokusabre's day-in, day-out contribution to the game yield him victory on both the overall and second half game? Who will end up with more points, mblally or Marlon D? Will whambam every nail his negative AAB picks? Can dgriot and oladipo_for_mayor rebound? All this and more next week, on another edition of Weekly Ichthyomancy Update
